What layout to use to split the screen?

Postby Jene108 » Fri Nov 27, 2009 4:16 pm

Hey there!

I have kind of a difficult problem, difficult because I can't really put it.
I have an application that parses an XML. It's kind of a search engine, you click something and it parses another xml from there. Now my problem: I want to have the first item, the phrase you were searching for for example, to always stay on top, while the next clickable possibilities are put into a listview below. So I thought this could be done with a ListView.addHeaderView. But the HeaderView is transparent, so that doesn't help me at all. Then I thought of a RelativeLayout, but that works even worse.

So, in short, what I want is to split the screen into two parts, on is a fixed TextView and the other part a ListView. Can anyone help? It's driving me crazy, like Android in general, but that's something else entirely.
Thanks in advance.

why you don't use a vertical linearlayout?
