Postby bqbqhahabq » Fri Nov 20, 2009 9:42 am

Hey, Thank you. ^^ ;

I have a question about 'cursor' (maybe in database word)...

When I searched for 'Sqlite' articles, there is many mentions about 'cursor'.

Why there is 'cursor' in database ?? 'Cursor' is something twinkle indicates the location of tying, right ?
(like in DOS command windows...)

What does 'cursor' means in android (and Sqlite ) ???

thank you in advance !

in simple words cursor means the pointer to the recordset returned by executing a specific query...
Using this cursor u can move to records in that recordset.

A cursor is like an iterator. It allows you to traverse the dataset that is returned by query in an easy and concise way.

Usually when you receive a Cursor object, it will point before the first item in your dataset, you can use moveNext() to go to the first (and subsequent) records. This is usually done inside a loop.

You'll find the documentation for the Cursor class here

You'll also find an example of how to use Cursors in the Notepad example
