Updating the manifest in an compiled .apk file

Postby jez0o0z » Mon Mar 09, 2009 8:12 pm

I'm looking for a way to update the AndroidManifest.xml (or a resource file) in an already compiled apk file.

I'm thinking the aapt tool is the way to go, but I haven't been able to get it to work.

Any ideas?

I guess you can't as that would change the footprint and thus the sign isn't valid anymore.

Thanks for the response.

Is it possilbe to re-sign the updated apk, or would I have to a complete rebuild?

I'm looking for a way to configure the app after the apk has been created, I'd welcome any other ideas on how to go about doing this.

You only have to repackage it and then, ofcourse, sign it.
