You can also browse the git repositories with your browser, or install linux in a virtual machine so you can download the sources from there.
You should get your hands dirty yourself to achieve some nice ui.

I think to forum categories are pretty easy to understand. Instrumentation should belong in "Other Coding Problems". And questions such as this, should actually be send as a PM, to not litter other topics.
