static background between activities

static background between activities

Postby hnager » Fri Jan 22, 2010 10:41 pm

I am admittedly new to android dev, so apologies if this is relatively straight forward. I am trying to give my app a consistent background image which remains visible as I move from screen to screen. I don't want it to slide in with each activity, but instead remain a fixed element in the background.

Any thoughts on how to accomplish this?

Maybe something like a view flipper would help?

I considered that - and will take a closer look - however I'd like all my activities to be discreet and that approach would require all the views to run in one activity (I believe).

In the APIDemos sample code there are a couple examples of activities with transparent background although I don't see a way to nest my activities so that one (the background) would be visible throughout.
