size limit for xml arrays in /values?

Postby scheich » Thu Feb 11, 2010 4:46 pm

Hi!

Is there any limit of how big an array can be, If I define it as a .xml-file under /values?

I tried to read it(about 3000 entries) into an Array, but got error messages, and my app closed instantly:

Syntax: [ Download ] [ Hide ]
Using java Syntax Highlighting
  1. String [] temp = null;
  2. temp  = getResources().getStringArray(R.array.bigarray);
Parsed in 0.031 seconds, using GeSHi 1.0.8.4

Do I have to define something like a bigger cache?
Btw, If I use the assetsmanager(using plain data from /assets) everything works fine.

But Ive seen that the values files are not visible in the .apk, therefore I would like to change to xml/values.
