Showing Toast or Alert in front of a SurfaceView

Hi, I would like to know if there is a way to show Toast or Alert when a SurfaceView is being shown. For example:

Toast.makeText(myActivity, "I want to show you", 3000);

When my SurfaceView is being shown and a invoke Toast it does not appears on the screen. Why that?

add the finish() below the toast,and try again.
