Hi guys ,

i am trying to show an sms dialog box that i need to show weather i was in the application or not ,

i have built the broadcast receiver in my application, i am also waiting for special message with special format , if that message comes at any time , i would like to show that message box.

Right now, i can only see that dialog when i am in my application.

could i make it appear if i was on "the Desktop" ??
any suggestions ??!!

I'm not completely sure I understand your problem, but did you try setting flags on the Activity in question? Using FLAG_ACTIVITY_NEW_TASK and FLAG_ACTIVITY_MULTIPLE_TASK together make the activity seem like its own app, free of the main application GUI.

Java eg:
Syntax: [ Download ] [ Hide ]
Using java Syntax Highlighting
  1. intent.addFlags(Intent.FLAG_ACTIVITY_NEW_TASK);
  2. intent.addFlags(Intent.FLAG_ACTIVITY_MULTIPLE_TASK);
  3.
Parsed in 0.030 seconds, using GeSHi 1.0.8.4

XML eg:
Syntax: [ Download ] [ Hide ]
Using xml Syntax Highlighting
  1. <intent-filter>
  2.         <action android:name="android.intent.action.FLAG_ACTIVITY_NEW_TASK" />
  3.         <action android:name="android.intent.action.FLAG_ACTIVITY_MULTIPLE_TASK" />
  4. </intent-filter>
  5.
Parsed in 0.001 seconds, using GeSHi 1.0.8.4

Hope that helps!
