How to define an own scheme

Postby mak » Mon Aug 31, 2009 11:10 am

Hello.
I want to define an own scheme, so that my application can be started by a link
in a sms.
If a sms contains "http...." this is recognized as a link to the browser, and in this way
i would like to use something like "MyOwnApp" in a sms as a link to start my
application.
Therefor i need an intent filter like
<intent-filter>
<action android:name="android.intent.action.VIEW"></action>
<data android:scheme="MyOwnApp"/>
<data android:mimeType="text/html"/>
<data android:mimeType="text/plain"/>
</intent-filter>

but my problem is, how and where to define the scheme "MyOwnApp"?
Have i to modify the android namespace = "http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
??? If so, where can i find it and how can i modify it?
And what else do i need?
Greetz
