full screen

Put problem concerning Views, Layouts and other XML-Resources (like AndroidManifest) here.

full screen

Postby Azalar » Tue Jan 13, 2009 6:15 pm

I read in a previous post on these forums about making the Android app full screen with things like

getWindow().setFlags(WindowManager.LayoutParams.FLAG_FULLSCREEN, WindowManager.LayoutParams.FLAG_FULLSCREEN);
requestWindowFeature(Window.FEATURE_NO_TITLE);

and to call this before setContentView

When i use this method you can see the application switch from normal to full screen most of the time.
I don't have an Android device yet to test whether this is just an emulator quirk or if it does it on devices too.
Has anyone else noticed this or know if there is any other way to handle this?
Like is there a property you can set in the xml for full screen?

Maybe your computer is a tad slow. Though I'm interested in hearing this from G1 owners.

Did you try it a few times?
You don't see the visual switch between normal and full screen?

you can also set the full screen in the manifest
just add the following to your activity

android:theme="@android:style/Theme.NoTitleBar.Fullscreen"

try it like that
