Detailed List of Windows Optimizing Software

Windows Optimizing Software have taken their training into their own hands.

They have found ways to please themselves and the pleasure they get from their behavior strengthens their tendency to behave in a certain way.

Windows Optimizing Software can be said to run on auto-pilot.

Automatic behavior in a dog is highly appreciated by dog owners - provided the dog behaves in a way the owner expects him to. This is the goal of dog training: Shape the dog's motivational system in such a way that he does what you ask him to do as reliably as if on auto-pilot.

We simply do not want our dogs to think twice when we ask them to come. Following our commands is our dog's life insurance.

The root of the Untrainability Syndrome lies in the fact that the dog does not look to his master as the source of pleasure - he looks somewhere else.

How come?

There are at least two possible scenarios:

One is that the owner trains his dog to behave in a way which is unacceptable and later complains about it. Instead of changing his ways the owner continues to reward the unwanted pattern until the dog has thoroughly learned it and keeps acting in the unwanted way because he expects to be rewarded eventually.

As the behavior gets reinforced it grows stronger and sets. The dog becomes more and more likely to behave in an unwanted way.

Example: The puppy barks because it wants something. "How cute! Good dog! Oh, give it to him!"

After a while the bark is not so sweet anymore... but "give him what he wants anyway!" The barking rate increases... "just give him what he wants to shut him up!"

The dog associates his barking with the pleasure of getting what he wants and so he uses his voice more and more often.

The more he barks the more likely his human friends will give him what he wants simply because they in turn want him to shut up.

The pattern is reinforced, generalizes and becomes more difficult to unlearn. The dog has become an automatic barker.

His family gets angry at him - but whose fault is it really?

Another way for this to happen is when the owner simply refuses to teach his dog how to behave in a positive, well mannered way.

This maybe motivated by the wrong assumption that dogs need freedom to be happy and that teaching him to be obedient is unkind.

Or it is part of an "I can not be bothered" kind of attitude many people show towards their dogs because they need time to relax after strenuous days at work.

There is a price to pay if you neglect your dog's training and supervision, no matter why you do so.

The dog is a sensation seeker, he wants to explore his world and if you let him do what he likes all the time he will sooner or later learn to please himself instead of pleasing you.

This is bound to lead to a very unpleasant situation in which you experience yourself as helpless and victimized by your friend's behavior.

This home made unhappiness is nothing you would want for the pair of you - so don't let it happen!
