Common bugs/problems with the Android SDK the Emulator and the ADT-Plugin.

Sending Email

Postby faiz.india » Mon Sep 15, 2008 8:02 am

Hi All,
I am trying to implement sending email functionality, I have added "javax.mail" and "javax.activation" jar to the build path. When i try to send an email i get "VerifyError". I dont know how to tackle this problem.

If any one has any idea, do let me know.

Thanks and Regards,
Faiz.

we have no ideal solution to the VerifyErrors yet, but there might be any, because this doesn't look logic to me.
you're told to use Google APIs for programming, access to low-level APIs have been forbidden (?) because of Security-related issues (?) for example when using java.awt.Color, (ironic) which has definitely a high impact on security functions (/ironic)

thanks for your quick comments...!

But within android they have removed the Google APIs, even if i want to use it for email stuff.

How do i proceed further with email thing...?

or should i wait for the next SDK release.

i assume that these java.mail and -.activation libraries are using any of these low-level APIs you're not supposed to use. so i suggest your looking out for an other library, which is not requiring any of the standard JRE low-level APIs.

the VerifyError is definitly not an error to cease development, it's just annoying.
