[Specifically, on a Mac. Anything Linux will likely work for me as well]

Is there a way to test an app on my device without having it connected and mounted via USB? This isn't a big issue, obviously, but it would be useful if it didn't require too much set up.

SkyJack is an command scripting application designed for automate mobile device testing. Go for it..
