Hey People,

I am trying to install Android USB driver on Windows 7 to test Huawei JOY . I need it to use DDMS(to take screenshots and logs).

When I plug in the device, windows 7 installs the device automatically as 'mass storage device. Even if I update the driver to the android one, it doesnt help. If I uninstall it, and plug the device again, it installs the 'media storage device' automatically and wont let me do choose the driver

I also tried, 'never install the drivers automatically' option. but then i plugged the USB cable, it installs it automatically.

Anyone has this problem or know the solution to this, please help me out.

Have you enabled USB debugging on the phone? Check out the phone options for disabling storage

for all, who see this later - here is the solution of this android USB driver problem (works with Desire)

I've saw it too - "wrong driver", with no success

0. so, you have to download the driver from SDK Manager, as described on developer.android.com install guide
1. the result path will be something like ...\android-sdk-windows\usb_driver\
2. you have to find android_winusb.inf
3. and add such a text to it:

; HTC Desire
%CompositeAdbInterface% = USB_Install, USB\VID_0BB4&PID_0C87&MI_01

; HTC Desire
%CompositeAdbInterface% = USB_Install, USB\VID_0BB4&PID_0C87&MI_01

4. and then simple install the driver as written here
