mkdir failed for test, Permission denied

Common bugs/problems with the Android SDK the Emulator and the ADT-Plugin.

mkdir failed for test, Permission denied

Postby gacon123 » Tue Jul 06, 2010 4:47 pm

hi all, I'm trying to play with emulator and shell command line.

I try this on windows command line:

Code: Select all
adb root
adbd is already running as root

but when I try on emulator:

Code: Select all
cd sdcard
mkdir test

I got "mkdir failed for test, Permission denied"

Can you help me?

thanks

Sometimes there's a little switch physically on the SD card that makes it read only, have a look, doubt it but it's an option.

I'm not much help in this region but you did allocate a memory card space to the emulator? i.e. emulate an sd card?

Yes I did it when making the system image. I tried also in root dir ("/")

Try this one

Its straight out of the ADK, but I don't know why you'd need it, SD card access is an implied permission.
