installing ADT plugin for eclipse??!

Postby jimiwa » Sun Sep 11, 2011 4:43 pm

I've been trying to get the ADT plugin for eclipse to work. I've downloaded
both 32 and 64 bit java sdk. I've installed eclipse, I've tried this with both
version indigo and helios. I went through the instructions on the android
web site for installing the ADT plugin and it said "unable to connect to
repository" when it was trying to download the plugin. I also found the following
suggestion on line:

---
nstead of the repository being

https://dl-ssl.google.com/android/eclipse/content.xml

it should be

https://dl-ssl.google.com/android/eclipse/site.xml

If you manually download the ZIP, you have to do a manual install (install the ZIP plugin, don't set the repository to the ZIP). I suggest doing it through the URL, though, so you automatically get updates.
---

This confused me because I thought the only way to install eclipse was manually, through
the zip, as I couldn't find any automatic install. I tried entering the alternative url given
in the above instructions but still the same problem. And I looked for instructions on how
to do a manual install and I could not find any. I am running on windows 7.

Does someone know how to solve this problem?
