install .apk failed

hello, all
i am trying to install my .apk files, but it gave me the info below:
1286 KB/s

pkg: /data/local/tmp/traveler.apk

Failure [INSTALL_FAILED_UPDATE_INCOMPATIBLE]

i have signed the app and verified it successfully, but failed to install many time!
why..? :?:

have you an earlier version installed? try to remove it first...
