Failed To Upload

Postby dhgold » Mon Nov 01, 2010 1:55 pm

I have been uploading my app from Exclipse (V 3.5.2) to an ATT Captivate (Samsung Galaxy S) device for a month with no problem. Suddenly I am unable to upload the app, with the following error:

[2010-11-01 06:41:46 - Take5] Android Launch!
[2010-11-01 06:41:46 - Take5] adb is running normally.
[2010-11-01 06:41:46 - Take5] Performing dhg.Take5.Take5 activity launch
[2010-11-01 06:41:46 - Take5] Automatic Target Mode: using device 'I897c3ab8c23'
[2010-11-01 06:41:46 - Take5] Uploading Take5.apk onto device 'I897c3ab8c23'
[2010-11-01 06:41:57 - Take5] Failed to upload Take5.apk on device 'I897c3ab8c23'
[2010-11-01 06:41:57 - Take5] java.io.IOException: Unable to upload file: timeout
[2010-11-01 06:41:57 - Take5] Launch canceled!

I have tried turning the device off and on, restarting eclipse and even a full reboot several times. Once, after restarting the device, the upload was successful. However all subsequent uploads have failed.

Any ideas???

Thanks.

Thanks for responding, but the problem persists. I deleted the previous version of the application from the Galaxy/Captivate device and tried to run the app from the emulator, but still received the "Failed to upload ... timeout" error. Then I shrunk the app by removing some non-essential resources with the same results.

I'm thinking that I inadvertently changed some setting on the phone. Any ideas?

Thanks, Dave

Fixed!

Turns out the package was too big, even though there appears to be plenty of free space on the device. To free up space I went through all the resource directories and removed vestigial files.

Thanks for the suggestions.
