Emulator Output vs Device Output Varies

Postby Rohini » Thu Jul 15, 2010 1:44 pm

Hi I desiged an application which looks fine when I run on emulator. But when it is viewed on device, its very odd(not same as emulator view). May I know why such problem arises? On device the layouts are not proper.

No on emulator the layouts aren't right.

Don't forget your emulator is emulating, aim to get it to work on phones.

If it's vastly different you must be doing something naughty / not following nice neat coding practices / or the emulator could just be being a *%£$! This used to happen a lot on the old J2ME emulators.

Hmmm something for you to read:

This is documented in many books I've read, can't think of the names atm but any android development or something like "Mobile Development for Beginners" would cover it
