The most common reason for this is an incomplete AndroidManifest.xml;

do you have lines like this in your start activity block?
Syntax: [ Download ] [ Hide ]
Using xml Syntax Highlighting
  1.
  2. <intent-filter>
  3.
  4.    <action android:name="android.intent.action.MAIN" />
  5.
  6.    <category android:name="android.intent.category.LAUNCHER" />
  7.
  8. </intent-filter>
  9.
  10.

Hi,
I had this problem once, but restarting my computer solved it.

Depending on your AVD settings, this could be the problem...
try "1" or "2" instead, or verify that you have set up your AVD with version 3.

I had the same problem. Because tried launch emulator with "-no-window" option.
And actually it launches but it's invisible.
Try next:
- remove all options in Android/Launch in eclipse preferences
- stop adb and emulator
- launch emulator from command line (emulator -avd <device_name>)

I have almost the same problem as chaoz1336 has/had.

The emulator starts, loads and shows the home screen but then nothing happens.

I also get this kind of console log:

Code: Select all
[2010-09-07 00:10:32 - HelloAndroid] ------------------------------
[2010-09-07 00:10:32 - HelloAndroid] Android Launch!
[2010-09-07 00:10:32 - HelloAndroid] adb is running normally.
[2010-09-07 00:10:32 - HelloAndroid] Performing com.example.helloandroid.HelloAndroid activity launch
[2010-09-07 00:10:32 - HelloAndroid] Automatic Target Mode: Preferred AVD 'my_avd' is not available. Launching new emulator.
[2010-09-07 00:10:32 - HelloAndroid] Launching a new emulator with Virtual Device 'my_avd'

Yesterday I got it working, the emulator started and the app was installed to the virtual device and the app started eventually.

I'm running this normally with Run configuration set to automatic. I have only one virtual device (I've deleted it and created a new one, no success) set to API Level 8. I haven't changed anything in my system, so I have no idea why this isn't working anymore.
