Sony Vegas mov is playing a black screen? i have sony vegas pro 9. I have some video clips in mov format but when i try to play it in sony vegas it only plays a black screen. I already download QuickTime so It plays find when I play it on QuickTime. Sony Vegas converter

The reason why Vegas won't play the clips properly is because you're trying to open a format that it doesn't support. You could for instance have a MOV file with DivX video and MP3 audio and have another MOV with Indeo video and PCM audio. So there isn't just one MOV format and Vegas doesn't support them all.

Now, what all those things are doesn't matter. You need to either convert your video to a format that Vegas will understand (losing some quality in the process) or update Vegas to be able to read your file.

To go with the conversion approach just try one of the billions of video conversion programs out there. There's so many that I can't recommend a particular one.

To be able to take your existing clip into Vegas, you'll need to identify the sub-format of the video. This is called a codec. You'll need to identify which codec the video uses. I'd suggest a tool like G-Spot to be able to identify the format.

MOV to Sony Vegas converter is so far the first and most comprehensive tool to convert your MOV in Sony Vegas Vegas (any version included,08/09/10/11) compatible files like DV, MP4, WMV, MPG etc with best output quality and fast conversion speed (no extra codec required, no worry about audio and video problem).

MOV Sony Vegas tool can be also used as an excellent video editing tool. For example, you can set the right aspect ratio (16:9, 4:3) by Crop, the proper frame rate (23.97, 24, 25, 29.97, 30 or 60) and resolution by Settings to fit the specific needs of Sony Vegas.

To reduce your tedious reading work, we just have a picture guide available which can be served as a detailed instruction, just read it to know exactly what to do:

After converting, you can put .MOV to Sony Vegas for further editing.
