Display day of week

Postby Cereal Killer » Fri Mar 09, 2012 10:26 pm

Hello,

I'm trying to develop an application for Android, and one of the things I need to get done is display which day of the week it is. I've gotten it to display the current time by using the following code:

Code: Select all
java.text.DateFormat format = SimpleDateFormat.getTimeInstance(
            SimpleDateFormat.DATE_FIELD, Locale.getDefault());

and implementing this in a textView. I figured displaying the day of the week would work similarly, but I can't figure it out and I'm having trouble finding any information on the internet. Maybe some of you guys know how I would do this?
