differences android 1.6 vs APIs 1.6

Hello, I have a question and I try to google it but couldn't find the answer.
Whats the difference beetwen android 1.6 and APIs 1.6? I have the same questions in all other version, example, android 2.1 and APIs 2.1

Hi 4brunu,

Android 1.6 is the Platform version and the API level is 4. There's no API 1.6 refer to this link for more info

When I choose one emulator of android I can choose 1.6 or APIs 1.6

Whats de difference beetwen them?

Did you check the URL provided by ruelblapid, which clearly explains the difference between the two?

I will say that you should again check the URL and read the same carefully. API label and Platform Version are two different values.

I believe what you are seeing is the option for Google APIs 1.6 which matches up with Android 1.6. The Google APIs, from what I gather are the standard Android platform with the addition of things like Google Maps so they could be referenced by outside apps.
