Developing with a Samsung device

Postby sidstyler » Sun Dec 20, 2009 11:43 am

I have a Samsung Galaxy Spica (5700) and I'm trying to get it hooked up so that I can use it for development. I really don't like the emulator, it's slow. And since I actually own a android phone it would be nice to use it.

Has anyone got the Galaxy Spica to work on any OS? I've tried on Linux (Ubuntu Karmic) without success. Appearently there is a bug in adb or something wich makes all samsung phones unusable...cute.

I checked for Windows and it seem like there is a similar problem there also.

I really want to get starting developing games for android. I don't care wich OS I need to use as long as it works. Anyone have any ideas?

Hi
I managed to get the Samsung Galaxy Spica working on windows. You first have to install the Samsung New PC Studio. And then the USB Driver. These are on the CD that comes along with the device.
