Connecting to the internet in my AVD behind a proxy

Postby TioFu » Wed Jul 20, 2011 7:39 pm

Hi everyone,

I'm using Eclipse to build my Android apps. So far, it was a pretty smooth ride. Recently, though, I've tried to make a simple app to access a REST service which is in the internet. The problem is that my AVD simple won't connect to the internet.

I'm behind a proxy, and have tried to add the -http-proxy with the proper configuration (followed this guide: http://developer.android.com/guide/deve ... lator.html). However, the device won't connect to the internet, although I'm able to access the bind IP to the machine that is running (Android make this default to 10.0.2.2).

Also, I've tried to use the "Use settings from Eclipse Network Settings" options. No success either.

Anyone can give me a light?

Thanks.

Additional information, I've tried to add hardware in the EDIT AVD window, but when I click "New" on the Hardware list, nothing happens...

Two other things... I'm using Linux (openSUSE 11.3 32bits) and I've tried to set the proxy manually inside the VM. None worked.
