Can't debug onCreate() function

Postby LanguidLegend » Mon Oct 31, 2011 6:21 am

So I have a very simple text pad app project that I have downloaded from my tutorial book's author's website (which I have zipped and attached below), and I am trying to debug it so as to better understand the life-cycle of Android apps.
However, I run into an error (Activity.class:"Source not found") every time I try to step into the overridden super.onCreate(savedInstanceState) function. It seems like its trying to locate the source code in the file Activity.class, but is unable to locate it.. Has anyone else run into this??

I'm pretty new to Android development, but I have lots of Java experience - but I'm kinda stuck here.. Any advice would be helpful! :)

API is not supplied with additional Javadoc and it just has .clas file
So its showing you that there is no source

And regarding your error what error is your LogCat showing you...

If you have
1. import android.app.Activity;
import android.os.Bundle;
2. You class must extend Activity
3. public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState)
and 4 super.onCreate(savedInstanceState);
Since you are using Eclispe your error is somethig else, I guess
