Android Issues...Windows 7 USB cant find device...

Postby ted_hulick@comcast.net » Wed Dec 16, 2009 4:51 am

I've tried about everything...

Windows 7, 64 bit...

adb devices can't find my HTC droid phone...

adb usb gives me error: Closed

After looking on the internet, I see chatter from people saying that the USB driver for Windows 7 and 64 bit is flakey? Can someone here tell me where I can get a working version?

Also - how do you load a .apk OTA (over the air)? If I "hit" a .apk in the browser will it automatically load it?

Thanks in advance...

Yep - Windows 7 installed the device and keeps saying "The best driver was loaded"

Try to go to the Device Manager and uninstall ALL the usb controllers, and then checking for new hardware so Windows 7 will reinstall everything. Do this keeping the phone connected.
If this will not work, I have no further advices.
