Is it possible, that you cannot connect to the Internet through a proxy? I nearly tried the whole day to establish that connection, but failed. So I decided to downgrade to Android 1.5 and there it worked with the first try.
I suggest it is a bug in Android 2.1 or am I wrong?

P.S.: I used the search function, but did not find anything specific for 2.1.

I tried for ages and eventually collapsed in an exhausted heap, weeping with blood on my keyboard and tears in my eyes. Good luck I hope you make it!

My solution was to get 'them' to open the proxy server for the sites I needed to access and it's working so far.

I have already tried all these possibilities but it is not working. The only two platforms which are working are 1.5 and 1.6.

I think the company will not open the proxy for me, so I just need to accept it. But I thought it is maybe a bug of version 2.1. But I am not sure about that.

Should we open a bug report?

I think they know, it's pretty well documented, but I'd be interested in their reply.
