"Add new Android XML file" missing in Eclipse

Postby J`E`K`O » Wed Dec 29, 2010 10:26 pm

Hello guys,

I'm having some issues with the full integration of Android SDK in Eclipse.

I'm developing applications, running emulators and so on without any problems, but I have an issue - when I click File->New there is no option "Add new Android XML file" neither "Android project". I have this issue on my PC on both Windows 7 and Ubuntu 10.10. I've copied Eclipse and Android SDK and moved them to another computer, running Windows XP. Installing and configuring everything there resulted in full integration of the SDK into Eclipse.

I can create XML files by creating a File and renaming it to XML but it is quite annoying and I'm really stuck with this issue as there is no information about it on the net.

Do you have a solution or at least some proposition what may be causing this?

Thank you very much for Your help!

Might be a stupid question but did you install the ADT plugin for Eclipse as well?

Yes, it is installed. I can write applications, run emulator and so on. If I go to File->New->Project I can choose an Android Project, but somehow the Android-connected context menus are missing :(
