Accessing email client configuration

Postby shardulp » Thu Oct 28, 2010 12:41 pm

Hello,
I am creating send email application which uses default email client shipped with android.

There are some "I dont wants" in the default client so I was planning to do the sending programmatically, using may b JAVA Mail API.

So I was thinking is there a way , some content URI that can provide me details of default email client configuration?
I want to know if client is configured or not ? And what are client settings such as Username password ports and stuff..

startActivity to load email application..

startActivity(Intent.ACTION_VIEW,Uri.parse("mailto:tom@example.com"));

Put startActivity in try and catch ActivityNotfoundException and try to resolve it.

Thanks,
Jayesh

Thanx, but thats not what I was looking for, I want to read configuration information from Email client,
that is if user has setup his account with some abc@xyz.com email and has port something 80 and like wise.
