I have a Samsung galaxy s, I cannot update it to 2.2 froyo when ever I try to update it via kies (which BTW is very bad) it tells me no available updates !@1!@!##... can anyone help ... I've tried all the reg edit hacks but Samsung have seemed to have patched those up. I live in the UK if that matters and some of my friends have also managed to update their phones to 2.2 but they have htc's... can anyone help?

I have a samsung galaxy s and I updated it from 2.1 to 2.2. Go to samsungfirmwareworld.com or samfirmware. Download the latest firmware you need and use Odin to update.

Can it be updated up to later versions? 2.4 for example?

It's not mandatory that every phone updates are successful, there may be several reasons of not being updated. If Mobile Doesn't Support 2.2 Froyo then also it may happen. You can try from Samsung Service Centers to get updates.
