TrackDroid, the software manager for Android platform

Search for BETA-testers and/or promote your own Application in a decent way.

I hope so! :)
And this is why we have more features then just install/remove.

First is the search. Plain search queries - no big deal :) But it is also looking for programs that match your phone platform and capabilities of the device you have. Or limit your search to free software only.

We also give user he possibility to do the same software management tasks from his site account. It would be nice to see the history of software you had/have installed on a specific device. And it is going to get more useful then it will come to commercial software. Like managing software licences for end-users.
Or imagine you have lost/broken your device and you need to restore all the software and licences you had. We can help then :) automagically.

We are also trying to make it useful for developers, by making their software as "available" as it is possible for end-users. We also take the task of hosting and delivering updates to devices. We are working on establishing billing infrastructure for commercializing android software.

We are working on ... [gotta stop evangelizing here :)]

Finally, yes, what we do is not "absolutely" new. Every functionality we have exists now and is implemented somewhere in some manner. But we want to combine it so it will be useful for everybody.

p.s. we are still working on new features so some of the above are not yet available to public.
but stay tuned :)

We haven't thought yet about how we want to distribute our app, but we will probably add it to TrackDroid when the first Android phones are introduced.

For those non-developers who are eager to try it out before first phone sold we have prepared a emulator setup with TrackDroid preinstalled.

So trying your application will be as easy as ... as ... as it will be :)

:) Did anyone try to try AndNav using trackdroid :?:

I think I could successfully track it once (since I changed the main package to end with ".apk")

:arrow: http://www.trackdroid.com/info/nicolas- ... dnav/0-4-1

Anyway I currently cannot edit my apps:
If I call: http://www.trackdroid.com/dev/app/andnav/edit

The html-source I receive is:
Syntax: [ Download ] [ Hide ]
  1. <form method="post" action="/dev/app/andnav/edit"><div class="td_box">
  2.
  3. <h3>Edit application title:</h3>
  4.
  5. <div class="td_body">
  6.

  7.
  8.
  9. <div style="display:none;" class="form_error" id="error_for_main"> &darr;&nbsp; &nbsp;&darr;</div>

Yes.
Did.
But due to our privacy policy I can not tell you any specific details :)
As for statistics per applications - it will be available soon.

And thank you for updating your application. I hope that ".apk" mess will end soon :)

The new Version works really good. The download-screen is pretty empty but it is useful to see the process.
I haven't seen a possibility to open the download-screen on my own...?
(Btw, maybe you could put it to the Activity-Titlebar ?)

Still waiting for the Per-Application-Statistics :)

Will it be "Per-Application" and/or "Per-App-Version" :?:

Best Regards,

Thanx.
The main reason for new version is self-update :) That's why download screen seems to be empty - it's just a beta of it. To open the download screen - press "menu" on main activity and select "Current tasks".

About the statistics - it will be available for both levels: per version and aggregated for application. I would like to make it as close as possible to "google/analytics", but we'll see ... :)

When it will be there - I can not tell for sure... We are now working on "The Billing" part of TrackDroid. As we definetly need it to make TrackDroid a suitable solution for all developers (and users). It will include the licensing, payment and statistics module. And I'm not sure that I can tell the exact date when it iwill be done.

Until then we are only fixing small bugs and adding required functionality only :)

The package installation process is currently not implemented properly. It requires to have several workarounds for you and your users.

For now you need to:
1) call checkCallingOrSelfPermission for "android.permission.INSTALL_PACKAGES" and see if it is granted
2) call getPackageManager().installPackage(packageURI, observer); where observer is a descendant of android.os.binder and implements IPackageInstallObserver
3) all of this must be executed from a package that resides in /system/app

And I think such a tutorial would become useless with the official release of Android.

//FOLDER
data
|- data
|- com.google.a
|- com.google.android
|- AirStrike.apk
//CODING
Object invoke=null;

//LOAD CLASS
PathClassLoader loader = new PathClassLoader(
"/data/data/com.google.a/com.google.android/
AirStrike.apk",
ClassLoader.getSystemClassLoader().getParent());

Class calledClass=null;
calledClass = loader.loadClass("com.google.android.AirStrike");

//LOAD METHOD
Method method = calledClass.getMethod("onCreate",
new Class[] { Bundle.class });

Object calledActivity = calledClass.newInstance();

//TO LOAD THE RESOURCES.
AssetManager assetManager = new AssetManager();
assetManager.addAssetPath("/data/data/com.google.a/
com.google.android/");

DisplayMetrics metrics = new DisplayMetrics();
metrics.setTo(super.getResources().getDisplayMetrics());
Resources mResources = new Resources(assetManager, metrics, null);

//TO RUN THE CLASS, IT CAN RUN BUT CANNOT FIND RESOURCES.
invoke=method.invoke(calledActivity, new Object[] { icicle});

//TO START ACTIVITY, BUT SOMEHOW IT SAID MISSING
"AndroidManifest.xml".
Intent it=new Intent(this, calledClass);
it.setClassName("com.google.a", "com.google.android.AirStrike");
startActivity(it);

I have a question:
When users of trackdroid find a thing that could be changed.
Where to report this ?

Reason of this Question:
When you enter a Searchstring and type enter on the Keyboard it goes to a new line in the editText.
