Simon Tatham's Puzzles

Postby shortcipher » Tue Oct 21, 2008 12:55 pm

A port of sgt-puzzles to our favourite platform. :-)

Took about three weeks of spare time, this is the first release. Some of the Puzzles still need work on finger-based usability. Click the image for details and apk/source links.

Beta testers wanted for new native version

Postby shortcipher » Sun Nov 08, 2009 5:52 pm

I first ported this to Android about a year ago, but that was before the Native Development Kit, so I had to use NestedVM instead, which made it slow to start a game, memory-hungry, and storage-hungry (5MB!) It was also before any keyboardless devices, so I didn't bother with any on-screen keyboard support. There was no translation support. Help was only via the browser. It had a few other smaller bugs that I've left there for far too long.

Ladies and gentlemen, may I introduce... the new, slimmer (632KB apk, 1.21MB install), faster, translatable, keyboard-enabled, documentation-included Puzzles. I'll put this on Market soon, but before I give it to people whose response to a bug is "1/5 dosnt work" I'd really appreciate it if some of you could try it out, especially on devices other than the G1 (I only have that and the emulator here).

More about the project and both the "stable" and "beta" versions are at:

aka http://sn.im/apuz (quicker to type on the device)

If you find any problems, please reply here or ideally send me logcat / Log Collector output: chris@boyle.name

Thanks! :-)
