Runners - Augmented Reality first-person-shooter game

Postby Terry Mayson » Mon May 31, 2010 11:14 pm

Hi there,

I'm making a standalone project called Runners, it's an augmented reality FPS (first-person-shooter) game for Android.

Currently the project it's in beta (I'm fixing some bugs when I can) and I need some feedback, suggestions or opinions.

Anyway, if anyone wants to collaborate with the project will be welcome, is a project too big for one person and I can not do everything at once.

Can download and test for free in: http://www.runnersthegame.com

NOTE: I can only test on Nexus One with 2.1, so I cannot sure working properly on another devices.

Awaiting some opinions,

Best regards,
Terry Mayson

Looks really cool, but I didn't get it to run on a stock Droid 2.1. When I start a mission it says, "We are sorry but an error has occurred, we are working to fix it, please restart game manually: java.lang.NullPointerException.

Really excited about this idea though. Wish you the best of luck.

I'm having some feedback of Droid users with same problem. Unfortunately I have no way to debug with Droid, I'm not sure why on Nexus One works and with Droid not.

But I'm working with a new update more optimizated, catching some new exceptions and errors that will probably fix this error on Droid users.

Anyway, I can suggest you some tips:

- Calibrate sensors (game options / how to calibrate sensors)
- Disable GPS

Let me know if works

Thanks for the quick response. I look forward to the updates. I honestly didn't understand the calibration, and there wasn't really anything to confirm if I had done it correctly. I think that screen could be improved. And I already had GPS disabled. Look forward to the fixes! Good luck!
