I am about to launch my 1st android app, it will have both a paid and free (ad driven) version.

I was wondering if there are any unwritten rules about when to launch each? Simultaneous? Free 1st and build up your user base? Paid first and see if you can make more money?

Also, if an editor reviews your app, are they most likely to feature the free or paid version?

Hi Jay,

From my experience you should go with a few free versions. Make your foundations. Then go for the ads, after establishing a user base. And then go for the paid versions. You can also end up earning considerably much higher through the ad supported ones.
