Hi plusminus,

Will it apply feature 'Peripheral Services'? e.g. coffee, gas station and so on in the zone of the MapView can display.
Thanks.

Hello cabernet,

yes that could be added later on.
But first I'll work on the Navigation issues, like "Turn left in 100 meters".
I hope there will be some Android built in Text-2-Speech :!:
We'll have to hope because:
Dan Morrill (Google) wrote:Hi, John!

Currently there is no support for text-to-speech. We are considering the
general problem of accessibility, but don't yet have any concrete plans in
this area.

The first part is the following:
:src: Google Driving Directions - MapView overlayed.

I assume that next weekend (~16[sup]th[/sup] February) I can release sth. that can be basically used.

Anyone knows how if I would participate in the Challenge with my code, if a allowed to share it with others :?: (especially before Challenge ended) :?:

Hey guys,

once again two more preview-screenshots:
ZipCode-Entering, and Streetname-Entering(skipable) with AutoComplete-Functionality
Image Image

The AutoComplete-Functionality is based on the Google GeoCode API ( like: http://maps.google.com/maps/geo?output= ... =XXXkeyXXX ) which I will introduce in a Tutorial very soon. (One will be able to switch to the Yahoo-Geocode-Api within Settings (or it will be done programatically))

Currently supported OnScreen-Keyboard-Layouts are ABC, QWERTY(english) and QWERTZ(german), which will be selectable using the Settings-Activity I'll introduce soon.

There will also be a night-mode which is less shiny.

Let me know what you think about it. :)

Hallo Praline,

how far did you advance :?: Do you think your results will be able to compete with Andorid's perhaps upcoming Text2Speech capabilities :?:

Hi plusminus,

I see you implemented your own keyboards in your application. Can I ask why? Do you think touchscreen phones (w/o keyboard) don't get the ability to type text in Android with a standard integrated keyboard or something?
