I am Optimizing the Android 2.2 OS to make it in such a way that it can be ported to the tablet.
Can anyone suggest me how to change the themes and icons of Android 2.2 OS .

Some of the suggestion that, I think you can optimize is mentioned below.
1. You can use Photoshop & fireworks to edit image.
2. Draw9patch.bat the android sdk that let's you patch .9.png's.
3. xUltimate-opt - optimizes your png's and zipaligns apks.
