Well , since you posted you must have seen a video showing an android OS installed on an iPhone.
Now, if you're interested in porting quickly your android apps to iPhone/iPod, I recommend you iSpectrum by FlexyCore.
You'll see on their website an Android 3D game ported on iPhone in only 2 days.
The great thing about it is that you can use it for FREE for open source projects :)

Interesting. I have an app on android which is doing well, and would be very interested in releasing it on the iphone market.

Problem is, I'm a pure Java guy, and have no experience with any other languages or platforms.

If I had an assistant with basic iphone dev experience, just how complex is this going to be? My app is very simple, and uses basic graphics and no complex physics.

Well then you're ok about the language because with iSpectrum you're programming in Java ;) .
Thus you can reuse a fair amount of your existing application code.
So the learning curve effort will only lie on the Apple APIs ported in Java, but it should take no time thanks to the various sample codes that are available on FlexyCore's website.

Yes of-course you can use Android on your iPhone. Here are steps and video link through which you can install android on iPhone.

1. IMPORTANT! Jail broken iPhone 2G. Jail breaking guide can be found here.

3. VirtualBox Ubuntu Image (link). Download number 10, Ubuntu Linux 9.10 codename Karmic Koalax86
