What I should use, Service or IntentService?

Hi guys,

I need to create a service to wait for incomming data in my DatagramSocket, and then, start to receive data from this socket and save it into variables that will be shared to anohter Activity later. What's the best solution to do this, Service or IntentService? I think IntentService is easiest but I don't know if it's possible to do my work with this kind of service.

Thanks!!
