Using Java .jar Files in Android?

Hi guys,

my boss wanted me to re-use our java me libraries in android.
is something like that possible?
I mean... is Android compatible to java me this way?

I don't think that this is possible because Android uses its own java vm (dalvik) which doesn't use normal java bytecode but instead uses its own file format (*.dex).

I even doubt that you can compile the source code for use in android, because the java on the android platform is a special java SE/ME mixture (afaik) and not a true ME version.

To create a working android app you have to use the special android.* classes (activities, services, receivers) which are not included in standard java.

But I can be wrong here too. Best would be to just try it ...
