TCP Connections

Postby stfox88 » Wed Jul 07, 2010 9:48 pm

In an attempt to get a program written in Java run on an Android phone to communicate with a laptop via TCP, we discovered that TCP appears to be completely locked down to developers. We did not, however, try to get root access to the phone, though we added the udev permissions.

I'm curious if anyone has had any luck with TCP connections on the Android phones? Wasted a lot of time trying to get it to work. The java code itself works fine but the connection doesn't seem to work on the Android

I have successfully connected to a server of mine with an Android device. How are you trying to do it? Are you granting the Internet permission?
