Protecting files on web server?

Postby thekooliest » Fri Apr 08, 2011 9:03 pm

Alright,
So my app connects to my web server and uses a couple files (each display different JSON sets of data) to display information. I was wondering about security, cause these PHP files are going to be doing some raw mySQL queries. I know I can password protect the directory on my server, but will I be able to enter the password through my HTTP connection in app? Is there a way I can pass and authorization string through my server? I think this might be the best way, and I will be trying to make some code on my own for it..but if anyone has some ideas for security that would be greatly appreciated!
