Multi core ready android apps

Postby arnodenhond » Sun Oct 18, 2009 3:15 am

Yay! Android netbooks are now for sale!

AFAIK the Acer D250 1613 processor
Intel® AtomTM Processor (1.66GHz, 512KB L2 cache, 667MHz FSB)
only has one single core.

but in theory it should be possible to run Android on multi core CPU's, right?
does Android have any specific provisions to efficiently utilize such hardware?

btw, the first person to reply android apps are not worthy of such processors will be keelhauled ;)

I imagine you don't have anything to do to handle the multi core :
Just use several thread for your tasks, and let the OS decide what to do.

As the underlying OS is a Linux, it should handle this situation just fine...
