How to use physics engines in game development?

Postby suhasmannar » Mon Feb 28, 2011 7:24 am

Hi every one,

I am trying to develop a small game. I have to use physics engine for the game to check for collision detection. How do i start using the physics engine and which engine is best suited for a game that needs to check for collision detection.

You can also check the collision inside the game using the code only using the X and Y position of the components which are there inside the game, I suspect if you could found such an engine ready made and easy to fit in your project. :)
Thanks with Regards,

Is the game 2d or 3d? If the former, Box2d is pretty good. If 3d is your thing, good luck. There are no decent open source 3d engines for android. With that said, any engine you use should have collision detection... That is one of the most basic concepts when it comes to game physics. I started work on converting my 2d game engine that I developed for PC to Android, however other projects have taken priority and I have not gotten tot eh physics component yet.
