I'm new to android development, and was working on an app using the accelerometer. My app (probably) requires an accelerometer refresh rate somewhere around 50-60 hz, but the fastest I can seem to get right now is ~30 hz using SENSOR_DELAY_FASTEST. I'm testing on a Nexus One, and measuring the hz by simply counting the sensor update calls and logging them every second. I don't think it's a physical limitation of the accelerometer, because I looked up a data sheet and it said the chip should get somewhere around 3000 hz.
Does anyone have any ideas on how I could make it faster? Or is it even possible to do so?
I'd post the code, but I'm on the wrong computer right now and don't have access to it. If someone wants to look at the code, I'll put it up when I can.
