how to have a transparent edittext over a map

Postby rahul_mawkins » Sun Mar 16, 2008 8:32 pm

Hi
I am trying to have a transparent edittext over a map
Something that is kinda transparent or may be bit of alpha but it should have
the background of map
Hope I am able to explain.
I extended edittext but as soon as I try to get the map bitmap from behind using
getWindowBitmap() I get a null as Bitmap

Any idea how we may go ahead
Thanks
Rahul

Go for a Popupwindow on demand. U can add ur views(edit, text,image...) there n can make d background accordingly like image background , transparent color etc.

mWindow = new PopupWindow(currentActivity.getViewInflate().inflate(R.layout.statistics(note-> child layout), null, null),50,50);
mWindow.show(currentActivity.findViewById(R.id.main(note-> id of parent layout)), 0, 0);
mWindow.update(20,50,280,360);
