How to add a translucent picture upon the map background?

Postby massmoss » Sun Jan 27, 2008 2:41 am

Hello,

I want to add a translucent picture upon the google map. Both are set as background which I
mean we can still see the google map through my overlapped picture. Assume the pic is large engough,
How to apply this? It is better the overlapped pic can zoom in/out and move with the map operation itself.
Would someone give tutorial or example?

Thanks

Hello massmoss,

the FriendFinder-Tutorial does something pretty similar to your problem.
You will create an Overlay of which the function onDraw(Canvas c,...) will get called. In this function you can draw to the Canvas (Parameter) everything you want, from circles to bitmaps (both with alpha-channel).

Just have a look at the source of the FriendFinder-Tutorial :) .

Hope I could help you further.
