export current state of apk to a file

Postby shirkkan » Tue Mar 01, 2011 9:54 pm

Hi!

I'm developing an application that is similar to a calendar. There are two buttons: one saves it into a file, and the other button loads the file another time and you can see how the application was when it was saved.

I've thought about storing in a list everything I create (with its attributes), but it would be very messy.
So, I want to know if there is any method to export the current state of the app to a file, so when you click on "load" button, it simply loads that file and would restore the app as how it was when it was saved.

Any idea?

Can you not just use a simple XML file?

But what I wanted was to interact with the application, creating elements, changing them, etc... and at one point, save the current state. If I save the xml, I only get the entry point of the app.

I have implemented it with a list, writting in a text file what is being created in real time.

No, no. I meant create your own XML. Not the android's built-in XML.

well, maybe that could be another option. But I needed to load that state from another Intent, so the easiest way I found was using an auxiliary file to save/load the content.

Thanks for replying!!
