different bundles, need explanation

Postby KanedaSyndrome » Wed Dec 10, 2008 3:05 pm

Ok, am kinda new at Java, and what I know so far is that the onCreate(Bundle "something") is used to pass information between classes in the same project. Correct me if I'm wrong.

What I am seeking is a bit more indepth explanation, not a 5pages one, but something to just clear it up a bit, how you'd explain it to a new java learning friend or something.

I have seen so far the savedInstanceState bundle thingie and then someone using one called Icicle.

I am curious to what these do? what are the differences? etc.

I hope people will help out here instead of pointing me to a 200 page compendium.

Thanks in advance.

savedInstanceState and Icicle are just names man. Icicle is from older sdk's and they make no difference in functionality.
Learn more about the Activity life cycle (where they come from) in the docs, and also check the use of startActivity(Intent) as Bundles will be used there also.
