Differance between contact data

Postby Dannible » Fri Jul 02, 2010 3:20 pm

I have an app that queries contacts, I use the following code to look for all contacts.

Syntax: [ Download ] [ Hide ]
Using java Syntax Highlighting
  1.                         Intent intent = new Intent(Intent.ACTION_PICK, Contacts.Phones.CONTENT_URI);
  2.                         startActivityForResult(intent, 0);
  3.
Parsed in 0.031 seconds, using GeSHi 1.0.8.4

I have two emulators and a Motorola droid, on all three of those the contacts show correctly. I have heard from some other users with other models like the Eris or G1 where only a handful of contacts show or none at all.

Is there a good resource that someone can point me to or explain to me why contacts are stored different between so many models.

Any tips would be helps full.

Thanks!

Bummer, thats what I was thinking(and hoping not to hear). I love the Android platform but having to account for so many different versions in circulation is a pain in the butt.

Looks like i have to take the round about way.
